2018: Sustainable principles in tourism in the Czech countryside and their management

The book deals with the issue of sustainable principles in the tourism industry of Czech rural municipalities and their management. Currently, the popularity of rural tourism is growing, which increases the demands on the resources of the given destinations and ultimately can lead to their depletion and damage to the destination. The starting point is the effort to provide the management of rural destinations with such tools that would enable tourism to be managed with the intentions of the concept of sustainability. The aim of this book is to determine the characteristics that are typical for sustainable behavior in rural tourism and the subsequent creation of indicators that could enable the management or other interested parties to effectively manage the destination with regard to long-term prosperity in three basic areas of sustainability.

Based on data from broadly conceived research, the authors have created a comprehensive overview of used brands, their characteristics, historical relationships and costs of their implementation. At the same time, the book provides a necessary introduction to the theory of brand management, both in general and in specific application to the field of tourism. In the first part, the publication thus offers a more general information base not only for students, but also for professionals in the field of tourism management. Its second part can fundamentally facilitate the decision to choose a certain brand for entrepreneurs in the tourism industry. Although quality marking has been used in the tourism industry for a long time, it is, together with the relatively new eco-label, an important factor in the customer’s decision to use a given service. At least a basic orientation in the given issue is thus necessary for a successful business in the field.

It will introduce you to the issues of the communication process, the media as such, media units and journalistic genres. This part of the textbook deals in considerable detail with mass media and new media, especially those based on Internet technologies.

2015: Sustainable Tourism – Principles, certification and measurement

Scientific monograph entitled Sustainable Tourism: Principles, certification and measurement focuses on current topic of the sustainability application and sustainable principles in the fast growing tourism industry. The introduction presents the different definitions of sustainability and sustainable development, including the definition applied to sustainable tourism. It provides a basic overview of milestones of sustainable development, followed by the introduction of forms and types of tourism that are inherently considered as sustainable.
